Spring in the Netherlands

It’s hard to pick just one favourite season. I love the changing colours of the fall, reading beneath a blanket with a cat on my lap and a cup of tea in my hand. I am playful as a child when the snow comes, though, granted, that doesn’t happen a lot in the area where I live, but I feel most alive when the sun is shining and I can wear skirts and dresses, eating icecream on the beach and just feel warm all the time. Now it’s spring again and I am so happy when I see the flowers in bloom, newborn lambs and when I can finally enjoy the first sunshine beams on my skin again. Whatever my favourite season is, it’s certain that spring is the best time to visit the Netherlands and for one good reason: the flowerfields in bloom

Tiptoe through the Tulips

The tulip season has started! One of the things the Dutch are famous for, are the tulips. And now they are in full bloom! I had never seen the tulip fields, so I decided to change that. A week ago, we finally went to see them, and they were so stunning!

From about april 15th until half of may, the tulips are in bloom. Which results in endless fields of color. Pink, yellow, purple, red… Row after row of the brighest colors. It was amazing to see. As I said, I’ve never seen these fields before, and I’m really glad I did now. They made me so happy, all those colorful flowers!
